India to sell up to 6.50% stake in Life Insurance Corporation via OFS on Aug 4
The Indian government said it will sell up to 6.50% of Life Insurance Corporation of India through an offer for sale, comprising a 2.50% base tranche and a 4.00% oversubscription option, alongside a 0.04% employee portion. The base offer covers about 3.16 billion shares and the oversubscription option about 5.06 billion shares. The sale is being carried out by the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance and will dilute the state’s promoter holding in LIC.
