Strategy sells $104.7M of Bitcoin to fund dividends and buybacks; BitMine's Ethereum stash rises to 5.79M ETH
ME News, Aug. 4 (UTC+8) — BBX data show that several publicly listed companies released updated disclosures on crypto treasury rebalancing and accumulation over the past day.
Strategy divests $104.7 million in BTC for dividends and repurchases: Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ: $MSTR) said in an SEC Form 8-K that it sold 1,638 BTC between July 27 and Aug. 2, 2026, at an average price of about $63,957 per bitcoin, for roughly $104.7 million in proceeds. The company used about $52.4 million to pay preferred stock dividends and allocated about $52.3 million to repurchase STRC preferred shares. As of Aug. 2, Strategy held 842,138 BTC with a total cost basis of approximately $63.51 billion, implying an average cost of $75,419 per BTC.
BitMine adds 10,399 ETH in a week: Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: $BMNR) disclosed it increased its Ethereum holdings by 10,399 ETH last week. As of Aug. 2, 2026, its ETH holdings stood at 5,797,813 ETH, equal to about 4.8% of Ethereum's total network supply.
Capital B makes a small BTC addition: French-listed Capital B (Euronext: $ALCAP) announced it bought 1 BTC on the secondary market, lifting total Bitcoin holdings to 3,140 BTC.
The Smarter Web Company adds 9 BTC: London-listed tech firm The Smarter Web Company (LSE: $SWC) reported it recently acquired 9 BTC, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 2,712 BTC.
