About Skate (SKATE)

What Is Skate (SKATE) and How Does It Work?

Skate (SKATE) is the native token of Skate Chain, a modular Layer 2 blockchain designed to unify applications and liquidity across different blockchain ecosystems. Skate Chain serves as a universal execution layer that connects and coordinates activity between various virtual machines (VMs), such as the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Solana VM (SVM), and others. This hub-and-spoke architecture allows developers to deploy high-performance apps while tapping into shared liquidity and interoperability.

The SKATE token powers the network’s governance, staking, and incentive mechanisms. Token holders can stake SKATE to help secure the network and earn rewards. Additionally, SKATE is used to pay transaction fees, incentivize builders, and support cross-chain activities within the Skatepark ecosystem, an incentive layer where users earn “Ollies” by interacting with decentralized applications (dApps) across multiple blockchains.

When Was Skate Chain Launched?

Skate Chain officially launched its mainnet and began trading its native token, SKATE, on June 9, 2025. The project originally began as Range Protocol, a multi-chain DeFi infrastructure platform that operated on 10 networks with over $30 million in total value locked (TVL). It later rebranded to Skate to reflect its broader mission of building a universal application layer that connects various blockchain virtual machines (VMs) through a modular Layer 2 architecture.

Founded in 2023, Skate is led by Siddharth Lalwani (Co-Founder & CEO), known for his work in financial engineering, and Tony Sun (Co-Founder & COO), former Head of Spot Trading at Blockchain.com. The project raised $3.75 million in a seed round backed by HashKey Capital and Nomad Capital, followed by a $1 million community round on Legion Launchpad in March 2025, bringing its total funding to $4.75 million to support development, cross-chain integrations, and user adoption.

What Are the Primary Use Cases of SKATE Token?

Here are the primary use cases of the SKATE token:

1. Governance: SKATE holders can participate in decentralized governance, influencing protocol upgrades and ecosystem decisions via on‑chain voting.

2. Staking & Network Security: By staking SKATE, users support network security and validator alignment through protocols like EigenLayer-backed AVS.

3. Transaction Fees & Cross-Chain Execution: SKATE acts as the payment token for transaction processing, intent execution, and coordination across multiple virtual machines in the Skate ecosystem.

4. AMM Liquidity Provision & Yield Farming: SKATE supports decentralized finance within the Skate ecosystem. Users can provide liquidity to AMM pools and earn trading fees or farm additional rewards.

5. Ecosystem Incentives (Ollies): Through the Skatepark hub, user interactions with dApps, liquidity provision, and engaging in community activities are rewarded, complementing SKATE’s utility.

Open the BingX app, go to the Spot tab, and search for the SKATE/USDT trading pair. Place a market or limit order, enter the amount you want to buy or sell, review fees, and confirm the trade to execute instantly on the spot market.

What Is Skate Chain Tokenomics?

Skate has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens and an initial circulating supply of around 150 million tokens.

$SKATE Token Allocation Breakdown

• 45.5% – Community Incentives: Used for AMM liquidity mining, EigenLayer AVS staking rewards, grants, campaigns, and platform growth incentivization

• 18% – Ecosystem & Reserves: Reserved for liquidity provisioning, listings, strategic partnerships, and future

• 15% – Investors & Advisors: Allocated to seed investors and advisors, vested over multiple years

• 10% – Core Team: Subject to a 6‑month cliff, followed by 42‑month linear vesting

• 10% – Initial Airdrop: Claimed by early participants, such as Ollie earners, dApp users, EigenLayer restakers, with bonus 30% for immediate

• 1.5% – Public Sale: Allocated via community round (Legion Launchpad)

What Is Skatepark and How to Claim SKATE Airdrop?

Skatepark is the interactive ecosystem hub for Skate Chain, designed to engage users through gamified, cross-chain experiences. Within Skatepark, participants collect skateboard part NFTs (trucks, wheels, decks) using the Telegram-based “Skateboard Workshop” bot or direct dApps across supported chains. Assembling a skateboard earns “Ollies” points, the ecosystem’s engagement currency, which determine eligibility and allocation for SKATE token airdrops and future rewards.

How to Claim SKATE Airdrop

1. Earn Ollies Points: Use the Telegram Skateboard Workshop bot or Skatepark dApp to mint parts and assemble skateboards across chains, earning around 1,000 Ollies per full build. Complete community quests on Galxe/Zealy, mint Skate Rebel NFT, and finish bonus tasks to maximize points.

2. Check Eligibility & Claim: Visit the official claim portal, connect your Ethereum-compatible wallet (e.g., MetaMask), and it will display your eligible SKATE allocation based on Ollies earned. Confirm the claim by approving the ETH gas transaction, then receive your SKATE tokens directly into your wallet.

What Blockchain Networks Does Skate Chain Bridge Across?

Skate Chain bridges across multiple major blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Optimism, and The Open Network (TON), with planned support for Solana and Eclipse in upcoming phases. Using a modular, hub-and-spoke architecture, Skate Chain enables seamless cross-chain execution with zero slippage and minimal latency through its integrated messaging layer and real-time Executor Network. This design allows dApps and users to interact across virtual machines (VMs) without needing to manually bridge assets, positioning Skate as a universal application layer for multi-chain liquidity and interoperability.

Which Wallets Support SKATE Tokens?

The easiest and safest place to hold SKATE is within your BingX account wallet. As a centralized exchange, BingX provides secure custody, quick access to spot markets for trading SKATE, and integrated tools like staking or alerts, all without needing to manage private keys yourself.

Non-custodial Web3 wallets also support SKATE tokens, offering users full control over their assets and private keys. MetaMask is a top choice for interacting with SKATE on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains. Just add the SKATE contract address to track balances and use dApps. Trust Wallet provides a mobile-friendly interface with multi-chain support and integrated swaps. For added security, D’CENT Wallet offers hardware-level protection with direct SKATE integration. Additionally, wallets like Phantom (compatible with Solana) work seamlessly with Skate’s cross-chain features, enabling participation in the Skate AMM and broader ecosystem.

How to Add SKATE to MetaMask

To add SKATE to MetaMask, first ensure your wallet is connected to the correct blockchain network, typically Ethereum or another EVM-compatible chain like Arbitrum or BNB Chain, depending on where your SKATE tokens are held. Open MetaMask, scroll down your asset list, and click “Import Tokens.” Then, enter the official SKATE contract address, along with the token symbol (SKATE) and decimals (usually 18). You can find the verified contract address on trusted sources like the SkateChain website, CoinMarketCap, or BingX.

Once added, your SKATE balance will appear in your MetaMask wallet, allowing you to send, receive, or interact with dApps built on the Skate ecosystem. Always double-check the contract address to avoid scams, and consider bookmarking the official Skate website for future updates or integrations across additional networks like Solana or TON.

Is Skate Chain (SKATE) a Good Investment?

Skate Chain (SKATE) presents a compelling investment opportunity for those seeking exposure to cross-chain infrastructure and next-gen Layer 2 innovation. Unlike traditional L2s focused solely on Ethereum scaling, Skate is building a universal application layer that connects multiple virtual machines, including EVM, Solana VM, and others, via a modular hub-and-spoke architecture. This enables seamless liquidity sharing, cross-chain execution, and zero-slippage interactions across ecosystems. The platform also benefits from EigenLayer-backed security, advanced AVS (Actively Validated Services), and real-time execution through its Executor Network, positioning it as a technically sophisticated and scalable foundation for decentralized apps.

From a tokenomics and community perspective, SKATE’s supply model supports long-term value through carefully structured vesting, with a significant 45.5% allocated to community incentives and rewards. Early adopters who participated in the Skatepark and earned Ollies were rewarded through an airdrop, aligning network usage with token distribution. Backed by credible investors like HashKey Capital and led by a team with DeFi experience (formerly Range Protocol), Skate has strong fundamentals and a clear vision for cross-chain interoperability. However, as with any early-stage project, investors should monitor adoption metrics, roadmap execution, and token unlock schedules to assess long-term viability.
